Senior Buyer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a blue chip, global OEM within Staffordshire with a very strong brand, experiencing continued extensive growth and development, currently going through an exciting time in terms of new products and technology.

The main aim of the role is to ensure efficient supply of a specific category for the business with the emphasis on service delivery, managing suppliers, identifying supply chain issues and managing shortages.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for liaising with stakeholders in the business to define and ensure supplier performance criteria is met and implemented through the sourcing strategies. You will provide the link between the category management team and other areas of the supply chain.

You will need to make recommendations and liaise with the respective business unit and category teams to receive and advise the strategic direction.

Experience within a purchasing or supply chain function from a manufacturing background is required but equally as important is your ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels from internal managers to business owners and directors.

You will need strong negotiation and influencing abilities with the expertise to engage effectively with suppliers.

This is a varied and challenging role but could pave the way for a role in Purchasing management for the right candidate.
