Embedded Software / Electronic Design / Hardware Engineer
£25-32k Dependent on experience 2 x positions available
Commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Skipton, Harrogate, Keighley
Growing Electronic engineering company seek a Embedded Software / Electronic Design / Hardware Engineer to work in a small development team in the Leeds area. You will be responsible for working on both new and existing product ranges taking responsibility for the full code life cycle.
The company are a well established business with a strong client base and a full order book. Working within the Development team you will design, develop and test new and existing components, devices, systems or equipment that meet with agreed customer specifications.
As the Embedded Software / Electronic Design / Hardware Engineer you will:
Be responsible for the full code life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation and test of key enhancement as required.
Advance the concept design into a product ready for manufacture.
Undertake testing of both hardware and firmware at development stages.
Responsible for PCB design and development by choosing appropriate components and modules.
Building, Designing and testing prototypes
Log and maintain records of all the tests conducted on hardware and firmware during development.
Work closely with Test Engineers in order to develop the production test rigs.
Create and manage product documentation
Maintenance of design files
Write specifications and technical reports.
Research suitable solutions and estimating costs and time scales.
As the Embedded Software / Electronic Design / Hardware Engineer you will:
Have previous experience of commercial design in Electronics and Embedded C
Have the ability to run multiple projects
Have a proven track record in designing PCBs
Hold Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
Have experience of working with PIC microcontrollers (8/16/32 bit) using MPLABX IDE and XC compilers
Have experience of working with standard industrial network protocols over two wire interface as well as Have Ethernet (such as Modbus RU/TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet etc)
Be comfortable writing drivers for SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, USB etc
Any experience of ARM microcontrollers would be of great interest
Any experience developing for hazardous environments would be of great interest
