Sales Team Manager – Account Managers

Salary – £67,200 – £72,000 plus £40k Commission and Benefits

The role:

Our client is a fast-growing technology business in the Southeast of England. They are looking for an effective and passionate sales manager to lead multi-disciplined sales team in the UK.

The Sales Team Manager coaches and motivates a team of circa six sales colleagues to win new business and grow revenues from existing businesses. You should embrace innovation and be a driver of positive change.

What does success look like?

Sales wins: the role exists to sustain great relationships with existing clients, identify whitespace and encourage the team to grow revenues though product upsell and cross sell.

Effective planning: Lead the team to create and execute an effective sales strategy, working with them to build detailed sales plans for their key clients.

Communication & handover: Set an example for and lead the team to deliver a quality service, including keeping the customers and internal colleagues up to date with progress and reporting via SFDC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team leading

  • Motivate immediate team daily to deliver for their clients and the business.
  • Respond to and assist team members to resolve escalations or technical questions.
  • Review sales proposals/Bids to ensure they are valid, accurate and clear.
  • Monitor the performance of immediate team and support them to make improvements as necessary.
  • Lead recruitment process for new team members.

Team alignment

  • Report to executive team with details of your team’s performance against the objectives set by the business.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Strategic account planning is key for all Account Managers
  • Liaise with other Business Leaders to exchange ideas on continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Work with marketing or other internal departments to proactively identify and target customers.
  • Keep internal systems and contacts up to date with progress.

Customer relationships & satisfaction

  • Regularly meet and build effective relationships with existing and potentially strategic customers.
  • Drive the promotion and sale of additional services to or through the customer.
  • Ensure the team maintain a detailed knowledge of customer objectives and key personnel.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Sales experience in the Telecoms would be ideal, but we are willing to consider candidates with wider technology sales experience

This Sales Team Manager role is focused on leadership, team building and sales performance. So, equally ideal for a team leader looking to step up or a seasoned sales manager who can bring gravitas, energy, and leadership to the role.
