Based in Slade Green, Erith
Permanent

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable Highway Services client who are responsible for maintaining over 50,000km of highways in the UK.
You will be responsible to ensure that they remain compliant in with all aspects of road transport legislation, whilst monitoring all associated costs with the transport fleet by managing the drivers and logistics.
About the role:
Advise and effectively manage all LGV drivers to be compliant with operating legislation ensuring all drivers comply with driver’s hours, tachograph rules and speed limits
Ensuring all vehicles are operated in conjunction with relevant legislation and regulations
Monitor OCRS (Operator Compliance Risk Score) and encounter reports, and effectively deal with any PG9’s
Provide warnings of any infringements to drivers and monitor to ensure compliance
Planning of all collections and deliveries of plant and equipment, ensuring all instructions are carried out and effectively relayed to drivers, including supply chain partners
Manage the recording of vehicle defects by drivers
Monitor the condition of all vehicles within the fleet, ensuring they are roadworthy at all times, monitoring plant location and availability in conjunction with the workshop manager
Work closely with the Training Department to ensure training is delivered in line with the training matrix
Manage and assist with maintaining FORS accreditation for the Divisions
Monitor fuel usage for all company vehicles and report suspicious findings
Ensure all aspects of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are proactively implemented and monitored to ensure compliance
About the candidate:
Full UK Drivers Licence
CPC in Road Haulage
Extensive knowledge of Operator Licencing requirements and legislation
Proven management/supervisory experience in a diverse transport and/or fleet operation role
Category C+E entitlement is desirable
Any wider knowledge or experience of Automotive Engineering or experience of low loader operations would be highly advantageous
