Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £36,000 – £60,000 per year

As a Mechanical Design Engineer are you innovative, technically talented and would like to be at the forefront of full cycle precision engineering design and development? If you are keen to develop further skills and take the lead in designing a specialist range of high precision electronic – mechanical products that are high quality, reliable and supplied to leading educational, research and manufacturing customers, then this role is rather unique and at the forefront of driving expansion.

You should also speak fluent German and be able to travel regularly to Germany though primarily you will be based in the UK.

Your Mechanical Design Engineering skills will include precision mechanical and electronic design using 2D & 3D modelling software, to allow you to take your concepts through prototyping, evaluation, test and into production for launch, delivering world beating, high quality, complex precision electro-mechanical mechanisms.

Mechanical Design Engineer skills and knowledge:

• You will be degree qualified in mechanical engineering or have significant experience of design for precision mechanisms
• Proven full product lifecycle from concept through design to launch, balanced with a strong understanding of meeting customer expectations and commercial viability
• A creative, practical, team player who has excellent technical knowledge, the ability to problem solve and an understanding of machinery directive safety legislation
• Able to produce high quality manufacturing drawings in 2D and 3D Solidworks containing full tolerances and detailed finishing specifications for precision components designed to micron level
• Fluent German language skills with the flexibility to travel regularly to German to support production.

• Sound understanding of material selection for varied electro-mechanical products and assemblies

• An all-round mechanical design engineer with an eye for DFMA (design for manufacture and assembly) you will be a key contributor in this award-winning international organisation
