QA Technologist

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

Our client, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of first class food products and ingredients, is looking to appoint an office based QA Technologist to co-ordinate all Technical and Quality information. YOU will be working closely with other departments and with customers and suppliers

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Completing internal and customer format specifications
• Overseeing, reviewing, tracking and trending of customer complaints
• Checking labels and artwork to ensure they meet current legislation
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain Technical / Quality information
• Checking product shelf life and presenting information to the Commercial Department
• Working on SAP, gaining information about products
• When required, dealing with customer queries including supplier certificates, HARA forms, allergen documents, customer questionnaires and specific product queries
• Occasionally working with the microbiological database sending certificates of analysis

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Food / Drinks industry experience in a QA / Technical role
• Ideally experience of completing finished product /customer specifications
• Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail
• Computer literate
• Experience with Quality Assurance systems
• Good attention to detail
• Experience with customer complaints (preferred but not essential)
• Field to Fork, SEDEX, Ethical knowledge (preferred but not essential)
• Food related qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Basic understanding of microbiological standards
• Driving licence preferred

Hours for the role are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
