Chief Technology Officer

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer for a Mobile Technology company based in London. They have just closed their second round of funding preparing them for rapid expansion – you’ll get the opportunity to make a big impact at a crucial growing stage of a small, yet highly ambitious start-up!

What you’ll be doing:

Be part of the senior management team.
Lead and manage recruitment, development, retention, and organisation of technical / IT team, keeping the staff focused, motivated and growing.
Manage technology choices, platforms and product development – provide cost and time-effective solutions to meet business objectives.
Supervise IT operations including server management & networking, email, internal groupware, source-code management, quality assurance, code standards & review, analytics, security, infrastructure & hosting.

Advanced knowledge of computers and programming.

Core technical skills:

Good knowledge of JS and client-side MVC frameworks (e.g. ReactJS, AngularJS).
Good experience with JSON APIs for payments (e.g. Stripe, Paypal) & mapping (Google Maps).
Strong skills in Python, Ruby or PHP.
Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL database models (e.g. Redis, MongoDB) and data indexing
Practice of popular cloud development environments: AWS, Heroku, Google App Engine.

The following are advantageous

Knowledge of modern HTML 5 technologies (web workers, WebRTC, localStorage).
Familiarity with hybrid mobile development frameworks as well as native Android and iOS development (XCode IDE, Objective-C/Swift).
Familiarity with popular CMS.
Experience using and designing ACL or capability-based security systems
