EICA Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Engineer)
x1 Permanent contract
x1 Fixed term contract until the end of 2021
Luxfer MEL Technologies is a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of Magnesium and Zirconium based products and services to technology industries worldwide. We have approximately 300 employees across the UK & US.
Zirconium chemicals are produced at the Swinton site from a range of raw materials. Our lightweight magnesium alloys are machined or extruded to custom shapes and specifications to meet our customer requirements, and are used in high performance, safety critical aerospace, defence, healthcare, oil and gas and Formula 1.
The Package – EICA Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Engineer)
As an EICA Maintenance Engineer, you will join the team based within our Swinton in Greater Manchester site, and benefit from:
* Annual salary based on full time, permanent contract is up to £55,200with the level based on experience

You’ll be working predominantly Monday to Wednesday, 7:30am to 3:50pm, and Thursday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:10pm. Weekend working may be required from time to time.
The Role – EICA Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Engineer)
Working as part of the Maintenance Team, as an EICA Maintenance Engineer you will provide maintenance and breakdown cover for the electrical, control, instrumentation and automation aspects of the equipment and chemical plant on site, and you may also be required to provide assistance in installation of equipment and services. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:
* Carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance to all equipment and plant on site under the direction of the Team Leader and Maintenance Manager
* Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine scheduling servicing
* Dealing with equipment breakdowns and repairing in a timely manner
* Troubleshooting and fault finding any defects on machines using PLC-based systems
* Updating and maintaining accurate information on the CMMS
* Supporting continuous improvement efforts
Our Requirements – EICA Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Engineer)
* Proven experience of electrical maintenance gained within a chemical plant
* A formal Electrical Engineering training qualification (minimum HNC) and a 17th / 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification
* Excellent fault-finding skills, with good working knowledge of PLCs (preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens and GEM)
* Strong communication skills
* High level of attention to detail
