Salary: £62,400 – £70,800 per year

We are recruiting for a Head of Operations who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of our award-winning client’s site based in London. The role will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation including, but not limited to, hospitality and retail catering services, sales and marketing, business and conference services. As the Head of Operations, you will lead, motivate, and develop the management team and achieve sustained profitable growth whilst working to our client’s ethical values. You will work alongside the Head of Facilities and be involved in regularly meeting with the board of directors.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver and report to the CEO against the strategic business plan for the company

* Continually review and enhance our clients’ offerings

* Develop new service offering and operations procedures which will improve customer experience, operating efficiency and cost-saving, ensuring that maximum sales and profit are achieved

* Develop community relations and employment programmes

* Manage 30-50+ employees

* The role is largely self-directing within the framework of the company’s strategic business plan. The post holder receives supervision and support through monthly meetings with the CEO

* The post holder is expected to show leadership, make professional decisions daily, including the provision of advice and guidance to a growing team

* The post holder will be required to make commercial decisions within a framework of the business plan and budget

* Develop and oversee the training academy for the team

* Work alongside your direct reports and prepare a 3+ year rolling budget/forecast to support the CEO

* Ensure that the management team take joint responsibility for leading their department by helping develop departmental goals that contribute to the company’s objectives and by motivating and guiding staff towards achieving those goals

Person Specification

* 3-5 years working in a senior leadership role within either conferencing, hotels, or events.

* Operational leadership of a business employing a large diverse workforce

* Running a profitable business unpinned by proactive selling, high quality of service, cost-effectiveness, sound financial budgeting, monitoring, and reporting

* Excellent interpersonal skills, articulate and able to communicate both orally and in writing with people from a variety of different backgrounds

* Decision-making, diplomacy, and problem-solving ability

* A proactive commitment to managing and motivating a focused customer team through setting individual/team objectives and managing team leaders’ performance through a regular review process

* Demonstrable ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment

* Customer focused, enthusiastic with an attention to detail

* Good organisational skills, with an ability to take the initiative, manage priorities and work independently without direct supervision

* Recognised Health and Safety or Food Hygiene qualification

* Inter-personal skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate well with a wide range of stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds

* Demonstrable ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment

* Experience managing an annual budget of over £3 million

* Effective contract management of third-party providers

* Setting individual/team objectives and managing staff performance through a regular review process

* Working with ex-offenders

Package

Salary: £62,400 – £70,800 + excellent benefits, pension, flexible working, private health insurance

Hours: 35 hours per week, may involve morning and late evening shifts as well as weekends (perhaps 1 weekend in 6-8 weeks)

Holidays: 30 days + bank holidays
