Despatch Team Operator / Team Leader

This is a great opportunity to be part of the success of a growing Lockerbie based company.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all stock is stored and rotated correctly and to ensure order picking is completed accurately, and to an agreed timescale for despatch to customers.

Knowledge of a computerised stock control system would be very useful, however candidates from a production background with good initiative and a hard-working, flexible approach will also be considered.

Key responsibilities:

· Liaise with Production on a daily basis to discuss requirements and targets

· Prioritise requirements for customers and give direction to all picking staff

· Ensure that all picking is completed in a timely manner.

· Oversee packing to ensure all shipments have correct labels and associated paperwork.

· Report any problems to the Production Manager.

· Ensure safe working practices are adopted and adhered to.

· Ensure good housekeeping throughout the warehouse and yard.

· Assist in any other duties that may be necessary to meet the overall requirements of the Company.

Skills and experience required:

Numerate
Proven ability to take initiative
Team leadership skills
Reliable and hardworking
Good knowledge of computerised stock control system (Epicor is being implemented)
FLT licence

Operators – £18 to £22 k (dependent upon past experience)

Team Leader up to £24 k (people management skills needed)
