Flexible Working and Shift rota hours You’ll be required to work a variety of shifts which may include evenings, weekends and some sleepover shifts.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Relevant training, study or qualifications in the area of youth work or other areas relevant to working with vulnerable young people and/or adults.
* Good verbal and written communication skills, an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable young people and be able to work flexibly to meet clients and service requirements.
* Experience of providing a care and/or support service to vulnerable people (voluntary experience also qualifies).

THE ROLE
Working within a committed team you will be an integral part of the day to day running of our multi-located service that provides accommodation, support and move-on for young people (aged 16- 21), who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.. Our young clients also have a variety of support needs including substance use, offending and mental illness.

You’ll provide housing related support to vulnerable young people, which will involve undertaking appropriate key working activities, providing group activities and housing management duties such as booking in clients and finances. As part of the team you’ll work with a recovery-focused approach, supporting our clients to develop and care for themselves. Other responsibilities include conducting house-keeping and cleaning duties and administrative tasks.

We are looking for individuals who believe in our clients’ ability to change and achieve their goals, while also being able to manage and understand some challenging behaviour. The service aims to address clients’ needs by increasing independence, and supporting them to engage in positive activity, training and employment.

THE COMPANY
St Mungo’s Broadway provides a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and works to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year. We believe no one should be homeless and that people can – and do – recover from the issues that create homelessness. We support men and women through more than 200 projects including emergency, hostel and supportive housing.
