Client Summary:
Axiom rail is the global leader in the Rail Freight Industry. Providing maintenance and refurbishment of freight rail vehicles to a number of clients across the UK.
Position Summary
We are looking for two skilled mechanical fitters to undertake maintenance and repair of the fleet’s wagons and rail freight cars at their site in Whitemoor, Cambridgeshire.
Person Profile/Experience:
We are looking for a confident, professional Mechanical Fitter, you will be a strong Team Player, confident and capable of working efficiently and safely. Ideally you will have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a similar mechanically biased role. The nature of the role and rolling stock in general means that this is a heavy and dirty role and the successful candidate would need to be prepared to work outdoors on occasion.
The role will consist of general maintenance, servicing and repairs to the wagons, additionally there will be a requirement to undertake training in order to provide services for Handback duties and re-ballasting.
The successful Applicant should be able to commute to work within 45 minutes and will be of a fit and healthy disposition
Qualifications:
NVQ level 1-2 in Mechanical Engineering, previous relevant experience
