Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer c£45-75k

As an experienced CFD simulation engineer in this pivotal lead role, you will work with both R&D and third party creative technology developers to lead the mechanical and fluidics modelling, definition development, and delivery of system level models, consisting of multiple interconnected components, from different engineering disciplines in a large R&D Engineering Department.
Key Responsibilities
* System Design Model – work with necessary stakeholders and prepare system CFD models for hardware design simulation
* System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis – carry out a range of analysis and investigations to create the CFD models for the product.
* System Functional model and Physical model development: propose new and different methods and processes to achieve product performance.
* Based on the simulation result to guide or propose design optimization from structure, process, material and other design factors
* Investigate new technologies and stay current on new product developments
* Product Verification and Validation
* Lead System model test
* Lead cross-functional technical design reviews on the models created
* Responsible for system model documentation from initial proposals through first production release
* Initiate and develop the proper working standard for CFD function to next level
* To identify best external partners to assist and drive CFD model development
* To effectively manage assigned projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
Qualifications and Experience
* Background in Mechanical, Physics Electromechanical or CFD Modelling (PhD preferred)
* Hands on experience in virtual modelling to build and verify product solution to facilitate the design iteration
* Experience in a modelling development environment, preferably R&D
* Previous simulation CFD experience in development e.g. automotive, oil/ energy, airline, aerospace, defence, medical devices, consumer goods.
* Previous experience in model verification testing
* In-depth knowledge of CFD modelling software such as ComSol, Ansys, or FlowTherm.
* Experience with CAD
* In all the simulation areas experience with (i.e. heat, mass and flow, stress FEA, etc)?
