Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

An established software company in Dorset is looking for a Technical Lead to join their growing team of software developers. This is a permanent, fulltime position for a candidate who would be excited to work on projects in VR, cloud-based software, mobile app and web development. This is for an immediate start with working from the office 5 days a week. 

Hours: 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday

Salary Range: £50,000 – £60,000

The candidate will sit alongside the other Technical Leads and will work on solution and coding.

The key responsibilities are: 

  • Develop user interfaces by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout the development life cycle 
  • Determining design methodologies and tool sets 
  • Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
  • Progressively update knowledge by researching new web technologies and software products
  • Advise and contribute on feasibility and timescales during project tendering and planning stages
  • Carry out online research for new projects
  • Lead a team of software developers in the projects they are involved in, taking responsibility for quality of the technical output from their team

The key requirements are:

  • WordPress development skills including theme and plugin development
  • Strong JavaScript skills (understanding of ES6) and frameworks such as jQuery and Angular
  • Front end skills (Sass/JS) and frameworks
  • At least 10 years’ experience working with PHP 7 and MySQL databases
  • Be used to the MVC development pattern and frameworks such as Laravel 
  • Comfortable working within terminal command-line tools and Linux servers 
  • Understanding of digital security principles and best practice
  • Experience with web-based API integrations such as REST and SOAP 
  • Understanding of build tools such as Composer/NPM/Yarn etc
  • Experience of using project management tools such as Asana and Kanban style task tracking
  • Able to communicate progress/blockers and identify difficulties/risks to progress ahead of time
  • Experience with working as a full stack developer
