Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

This is a very exciting time for an experienced quality engineer to be joining this successful and expanding R&D company as it transitions towards high volume manufacture. The company is involved with the design, development and manufacture of innovative electric motors and electric drive (e-drive) solutions for the electric vehicle marketplace.

The quality Engineer position requires:

* Good understanding of product development quality and manufacturing quality

* Ability to analyse and assess current quality processes and procedures and recommend and implement changes

* Experience of working in a manufacturing assembly environment (ideally automotive)

* Good appreciation of quality control, quality assurance and supplier quality

* Experience of DVP and FMEA (DFMEA / PFMEA)

Quality Engineer – more:

As quality engineer you will be involved with the continuous improvement of the company’s quality engineering processes and procedures relating to product development and manufacturing quality.

Process improvement may extend to the wider business processes as well as supplier quality audits.

The company is undergoing a big transition from low to high volume manufacture, hence the development of robust quality assurance processes is key. You will have a big part to play in maintaining product quality, creating lean processes and reducing product cost.

Skills / Knowledge required: Quality Engineer

* Ideally an HND / Degree in Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering or similar

* Good understanding of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and quality systems

* Experience of assembly and manufacturing methods ideally gained within the automotive domain

* Any experience of the selection and implementation of capital equipment would be great.

* Self-starting, enthusiastic, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

* Knowledge of DFM / DFA or DFT would be useful to assist with NPI

* Knowledge of a broad range of manufacturing systems, problem solving, and production processes would be good (e.g. Kaizen / Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Timing studies, APQP, PPAP, 8D, 5S, PFMEA etc)

Others (beneficial): Quality Engineer

* Experience with the production and assembly of complex dynamic electromechanical systems or similar

* Knowledge of manual, semi-automated and automated assembly methods and processes

* Automotive industry experience would be an advantage.
