Business Manager

Salary: £62,909 – £78,000 per year

Dedicate Recruitment is working in partnership with this secondary Academy, which has three sites, which is seeking an established and competent Business Manager. You will be part of the senior leadership team and the main point of contact for all stakeholders across the group.

The Business Manager will be responsible for the strategic management of all non-academic operations of the Academy, leading on all aspects of finance, HR, ICT, premises, and whole school administration & marketing.

Reporting to the Principal, your key objective is to ensure the highest standard of business ethos is maintained within the administration function. This is an operational role ensuring that the non-teaching functions meet their objectives, and you will have a strong input of systems management and making recommendations in managing resources. You will advise the principal and external stakeholders on financial policy and development of the 3–5-year business plan for the future growth of the Academy and staff planning.

You will have oversight of the HR function, regarding recruitment and disciplinary procedures, ensuring these are following current HR legalisation and overseeing the Facilities team to maintain high standards of safety and security of all three sites.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience of leading and managing people in multi-disciplinary teams, ideally within education. A practical knowledge of business planning and organisational management will be critical, together with effective budget management.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent or holds a qualification in School Business Management (ISBL). Previous experience of using school data systems such as SIMs is essential. On a personal note, you will be a highly motivational team leader, with a strong work ethic, who can work at pace and flourishes being centred within a highly visible role.
