Salary: £26,000 per year
Overall purpose of this position: Must Have valid FLT License
To maintain a safe, tidy and organized operating centre and delivery fleet.
● Receive and be responsible for all good inwards
● Maintaining the stock tidiness in unit and on yard
● Keeping stock in predefined locations
● Picking orders and loading deliveries for outgoing deliveries and trade counter sales
● To ensure stock figures are correct compared to our Brightpearl online operating system
Main tasks Associated with this role:
Keeping yard safe and tidy, free from trip hazards, packaging, banding
Maintaining waste containers for banding, timber packaging, cardboard packaging, confidential office documents
Scheduling lorry unloading slots so that not more than one turn up together
Making sure delivery drivers know what to do when they arrive
Unloading deliveries manually or with a fork lift handler
Checking the delivery note matches what has been physically delivered
Reporting shortfalls straight away
Stacking products neatly in yard or unit in predefined location
Daily Checks on vehicle and trailer condition, lights, tyres etc.
Keeping records for daily check sheets
Replenishing check sheets before they run out
Keeping stock of fluids, bulbs, engine oil
Maintaining a service log for each vehicle
Checking spare wheel, jack, brace, high viz, warning triangle, first aid kit
Weekly ball hitch grease, telescopic overrun brake operator greasing, wheel bearings, brake cables
Maintaining load straps and nets
Lubricating load strap ratchets
Refuelling delivery vehicles
Cleaning company vehicles & equipment
Replenishing cleaning products
Loading vehicles with product, either manually or with a fork lift handler
Maintaining the telehandler
Refuelling the telehandler
Having a certificate to operate a telehandler
Strapping loads on vehicles and trailers securely
Personal Qualities Essential for this position
This position carries a level of responsibility. You are expected to be confident and self-motivated and proactive by nature as well as reactive, where required, to situations or issues. It is important that you constantly prioritise your workload, maximise the efficient use of your time and bring it to the Stock and Logistics managers attention if you are unable to cope effectively with your time commitments or any other area of your responsibilities. It will be important for you to have good people communication skills in order to build good relationships with our customers.
