The Client: Our client are a leading Builders Merchants with a great range of both Heavyside and Lightside building materials.
The Role: Customer Service & Yard Assistant
Working within this busy builder’s merchant the focus of the role is to serve customers quickly and efficiently on the trade counter, giving product advice and upselling wherever possible to maximise profit.
You will be on the need to deliver high levels of customer service at all times, assisting customers around the branch, you will also be responsible for maintaining the stock levels and merchandising throughout the branch.
This will be a very hands on role with some operations duties involved such as loading and unloading deliveries and moving heavy products around the branch and yard with a forklift which will come with full training.
A full UK driving licence will be required for this role to drive a fork lift.
Full time role – 40 hours a week – some Saturday morning 8-12 work required as overtime.
The Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
The Candidate: The successful candidate for this role will come from a customer service or sales background and enjoy dealing with customers face to face on a daily basis.
You will need to have strong customer service skills, communicate clearly and be able to manage your time and workloads effectively.
You will be able to work in a hands on environment as working within a builder’s merchant will be similar to a warehouse environment and you will spend time loading and unloading vehicles and also assisting in the Yard.
Experience working in a retail, merchant or distribution background is ideal and any operations experience in a warehouse environment will be useful. Knowledge of construction or building products would certainly be beneficial.
A full UK driving licence is need as full training to use a fork lift will be given.
The Rewards: Basic salary circa £26,000based upon experience, 22 days holiday rising to 25, excellent company benefits and long term career progression.
