Yard Based Plant Fitter

Salary: £43,200 – £46,200 per year

We are currently looking for a Yard Based Plant fitter for our client based in the Kingsbury area. 

Work will be within the plant maintenance department to carry out maintenance servicing, repairs and modification as required from our workshop in Nether Whitacre.

Working by yourself or as part of a team to meet tight deadlines to ensure the equipment is ready for hire

Ensure all equipment is loaded and unloaded in a safe manner, whilst taking responsibility for the returns and on hire PDI’s of equipment.

Main Duties

1 Fitting

• General fitting and maintenance on plant and marine equipment
• Servicing plant and marine equipment.
• Fitting attachments to plant
• Checking and Inspecting equipment
• Examinations of equipment
• Manoeuvring and testing plant and equipment
• Use of hand tool and power tools
• Use of power wash
• Working in confined spaces
• Working at heights able to climb ladders

2 Welding

• Able to weld

3 General

• Good time keeping
• Follow safe systems of work
• Complete company administrative duties (timesheets, cost allocation etc)
• Use of PDA and palm computers etc
• Use of telehandler (training will be provided)
• Use overhead gantry (Training will be provided)
• Slinging and signalling
• To provide others within the team with general support
• To undertake any other duties that fall within the job holders’ capabilities allied to normal duties that management may reasonably request
• To understand that your job entails two separate responsibilities; firstly to carry out specific tasks your function requires. Secondly, and of equal importance but frequently overlooked, to continually examine and seek ways to improve the way in which your function operates within the whole business process and how it contributes to the achievement of the Company’s business objectives.

Workshop hours are typically 47.5 hours paid p/week with the option for O/T as required.
