The Role of a web applications manager:
My client is looking for a Web applications manager to work part of a team to operate, assure, measure, report and improve the systems. They are looking for an individual to establish and execute the proactive and reactive processes needed for all aspects of the operations. You will require a broad understanding of how the company does business and what its customers require.

Responsibilities
• You will be expected to take operational ownership of the public facing web applications and the interfaces with the back end business systems.
• Ensure the smooth running of these web-based services (a mix of in-house developed products, 3rd party products and hosted services)
• Ongoing Configuration Management of all application components.
• Proactively plan and then execute maintenance activities.
• Manage live problems with internal and external suppliers.

Key skills of a Web applications manager:
• Excellent communications and customer-service skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of working with MS Dynamics NAV and ERP software’s (Dynamics CRM)
• Very strong problem solving and analysis skills.
• SQL Server, Oracle and/or MySQL Database Administration and Performance Tuning.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Unix and Windows Server
• Working knowledge of Java J2EE application architectures
• Web and application servers such as Apache, Tomcat, Glassfish, JBoss, WebSphere.
• TCP/IP networking.
Desirable skills
• ITIL qualifications and understanding of ITIL Best Practice
• Callidus Cloud’s CPQ product or similar e-commerce, Webstore environment.
• Java EE 5 and 6, Struts Framework, Tomcat 6 and/or 7, Netbeans 6.8+,
• Installing, configuring and maintaining platform and application monitoring and alarming/alerting systems.
