They offer bespoke total logistics solutions covering: general haulage, pallet distribution, branded services, transport planning / management, warehouse facilities & associated services.
In order to continually improve the service, they have a forthcoming vacancy for an organised and hardworking Warehouse and Yard Supervisor to join the team, based in Croydon.

They are looking for someone with the following experience:-

– Current Counter Balance and Reach Truck licence
– Knowledge of Stock Control
– Scheduling of goods in and out
– Picking
– Marshalling
– Health and Safety
– Man Management and being a team player
– Good communication skills
– Preferably an LGV 2 licence holder with CPC card

Your main Role:-
To manage the safe, efficient, effective and planning operations of the Warehouse and Yard area, meeting deadlines and targets to ensure that a safe working culture is promoted throughout the Lorry Drivers and Fork Lift Team. To ensure all vehicles are loaded & unloaded in accordance with the site safety policies. To ensure the storage area is controlled and space-saving initiatives are continually reviewed and space is optimised.

Day to day activities:-

– To ensure all general Health & Safety on-site, (in the Yard & in the warehouse areas) is maintained.
– To control vehicle movements in the yard.
– To control yard and warehouse personnel, shift times and work assignments.
– To liaise with the driving team and gain eta`s back to the yard to introduce an element of scheduling or planning.
– To schedule Goods-In, as per process, allowing dedicated time slots for each supplier.
– To work with the palletline team ensuring all consignments are labelled correctly to reduce misdirected pallets.
– To work with the Operations Manager on continual improvement projects.
– To build relationships with site based customers and maintain good working relationships with their on-site staff.
– Control of overtime costs for areas of responsibility.
– MHE daily checks are completed as per company guidelines and any defects are reported and corrective action taken.
– Liaise with Depot based drivers to plan and schedule yard movements.
– Internal Customer focus and relationships to be nurtured and promoted to the PF Whitehead team, working with the customers to establish a regular working schedule.
– Warehouse racking to be checked on a weekly basis ensuring the racking checks are maintained and kept in a compliant manner.
– Warehouse storage area to be optimised and space saving initiatives are explored on a continual basis. To work with the Sales team and Operations manager when proposing new business.

Salary £33,600per annum
Working Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays)
Flexible 10 hour shift between 05.00 and 22.00
Working from our Croydon Depot with free onsite parking or easy access to the tram / bus routes.
