Warehouse Shift Manager / Team Leaders: Ambitious Warehouse Shift Managers and Team Leaders with a strong background in logistics, in either a 3PL or in-house distribution operation, are required to join one of the UKs favourite retailers and lead a warehouse team, taking responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of the operation during your shift.

Together the Distribution team ensure a speedy and efficient service for the retail stores, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time for customers.

The Distribution Centre Shift Manager will lead a warehouse team of 6 Team Leaders and up to 150 (Team Leaders up to 45) colleagues. Day to day your responsibilities include:

Lead and motivate your team to ensure all objectives and KPIs are achieved

Plan and deliver resource requirements, rotas, within shift budget so the right people, processes and equipment are in place to meet productivity and operational guidelines

Communicate warehouse operational processes and keep operating procedures up to date

Plan and deliver team training to meet current and future operational requirements

Improve processes, working with Operations Manager to implement changes

Ensuring the warehouse operates within company guidelines and legislative requirements

To be considered for this role you’ll need to demonstrate the following:

– Demonstrable experience gained at a similar level within a fast paced Distribution Centre

– Proven track record of leading a team to achieve results through their people

– Passionate about both people and work based performance

– Strong people management experience – understands importance of inspiring, valuing, training and developing a team and achieve results

– Solid performance management experience; KPIs, return to work interviews, conducting disciplinary meetings

– Communicate confidently and effectively across all levels

– Proven experience of managing resources effectively to set budgets

– Knowledge of relevant legislation, Health and Safety etc..

– Flexible to work varied shift patterns within a 24 hour/7 day a week operation
