Warehouse Operative / Assistant – P/T (Retail / Food)

Heron Foods are a family owned food retailer based in the East Riding of Yorkshire dedicated to bringing their customers the very best value in frozen chilled and grocery products. There first store opened in Hull in 1979 and they now operate from 235 stores, trading throughout the North of England and the Midlands.

Position: Warehouse Operative (Part Time 16 Hours)
Location: Jackson Way, Melton, East Yorkshire, HU14 3HJ
Job type: Part time, Permanent
Hours: 16 hours per week 
Salary: £26,000per year
Shift Pattern: 6pm-11pm

ROLE: 
Heron Foods are now seeking a Warehouse Operative to pick stock orders in the Freezer section ready to be distributed to regional stores in an efficient and effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
a) Pick orders and load cages ready for store deliveries in an accurate and efficient manner.
b) Manage your time effectively in order to achieve the pick figure targets and job standards set out by Warehouse Supervisor / Manager.
c) Maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards.
d) Keep work area clean and tidy.
e) Comply with and observe Company rules, policies and procedures at all times and reporting any witnessed breach.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) Previous experience working in Warehouse / Distribution environment.
b) Able to operate manual handling equipment (electrically operated).
c) Ability to clearly follow written and verbal instructions.
d) Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
e) Ability to work as part of a team.
f) Able to lift and carry medium to heavy loads.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience of using voice pick.

You may have experience of the following: Order Picker, Warehouse Operative, Goods Out, Retail Assistant, Order Packer, Warehouse Assistant, Distribution Centre Operative etc.
