We have a great opportunity for a Group Senior Planning Manager to join our team within Vistry Services. As our Group Senior Planning Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Units in promoting sites and planning applications and providing policy and technical planning support to the Group. You will also be expected to work with the technical team and other departments to ensure pre-commencement conditions are minimised prior to decision notice and that the discharge of conditions is addressed early in the process and as soon as is practically possible after a determination decision.

Experience in a planning or development role within the construction, property development, local government, or housing industry.
Experience of leading planning applications on large strategic development sites
Experience in liaising and negotiating with a wide range of individuals and organisations including professional consultants, local authorities, Registered Providers/Clients involved in the development process.
Excellent knowledge of the planning system and development process, design and technical issues relevant to house building and affordable housing contracts
RTPI Member
Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships
Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels and positively motivate teams and individuals to deliver
Self-sufficient in terms of IT
Able to travel on a regular basis throughout the region and as required.

Prepare monthly reports to Executive Leadership Team meetings on planning matters of importance to the business.
Provide planning advice on issues arising on sites already secured and also in relation potential land investments.
Liaise with BUs collecting, collating, analysing and reporting data and evidence. Always with the aim of helping divisions to improve their land and planning performance.
Assist the GPD with research and analysis to help guide and influence business in relation to planning and new land investment.
Prepare a Monthly Planning Bulletin and a Monthly Planning Appeals Note.
Ad-hoc advice notes to the business on emerging national planning policy and legislation.
Liaise, consult and negotiate with relevant external organisations, including attendance at public consultation and stakeholder events.
Monitor Central and Local Government policies, guidance and advice.
Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and trainees on planning matters.
Ensure continued professional development to meet MRTPI requirements.
