Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Sales of veterinary product portfolio

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

– Product and Specialist veterinary support to the Sales team in conjunction with the Veterinary Market Specialist to ensure the achievement of the annual Veterinary Sales objectives
– Contribute to the retention of existing business by maintaining and seeking to improve after-sales customer satisfaction
– Contribute to the development of new business opportunities by undertaking product related marketing and sales-linked activities.
– Maintenance of appropriate activity records and reports
– Contribute to the development of the veterinary business by advising and developing of the portfolio
– Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
– Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
– Assist in the maintenance of an effective competitor database including installed base, pricing and technical / applications details
– Contribute to the overall company success
– Liaise effectively with other internal departments and use available expertise to assist in developing the business
– Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required e.g. attendance at overseas meetings, training and events as directed.
– Follow and maintain company and team objectives and KPIs.
– Take responsibility for own personal development.
– Adhere to required Health & Safety, and Quality procedures.

Objectives
The prime objective will be met when quarterly and annual veterinary sales targets have been achieved.

Performance will be considered satisfactory when: 

– The company database can be shown to be up to date in all details relating to Veterinary customer contacts and history, sales opportunities, future appointments and plans.
– These customer and prospective customer records can be used to produce a forecast of future business expected from the area which is subsequently proved accurate.
– All new marketing leads can be shown to have been followed up in a timely and effective manner
– At all times there is an adequate list of prospects under active management and that steady movement towards a successful conclusion can be demonstrated.
– There is effective communication with the other members of the organisation
– There is effective weekly and monthly reporting.
– Feedback from customers is consistently positive or issues are speedily resolved

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills and Experience:
Essential 

– Recognised qualification in Veterinary Nursing or an animal science based degree
– Experience working in a veterinary or animal science related environment
– Excellent team orientation across a wide range of internal disciplines, whilst recognising the contribution of every member of the team.
– Flexibility and versatility to adapt to a variety of job functions
– Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
– Ability to work to a consistently high quality standard and to meet the necessary deadlines and customer requirements
– Ability to plan and control the workload, prioritise correctly and see actions through to completion
– Understanding of the technical issues surrounding veterinary diagnostic and the customer applications that are relevant to their operation
– Skilled in the use of a variety of software such as database (Pivotal Cronos), MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint), Email (Outlook or Lotus Notes)

The salary is £30,000 – £42,000 plus bonus and commission, £550 p/m car allowance, 25 days holiday, Pension, healthcare, life assurance, gym and golf membership for a 35 hr week, and to work with a company that has a culture of fun & joy with excellent career progression prospects.
