Urgent – Support for Disabled Child

Connaught is a specialist care services provider, currently providing support to children with disabilities and their families across the Leicestershire County area under the County Council’s homecare contract.

Due to rapid growth and expansion, we have exciting opportunities for care and support workers to join our organisation to assist with the provision of homecare for children with disabilities. Full training and support is given to all new workers.

The Role

We have a requirement for a team of care and support workers to support a disabled child in the Shepshed / Loughborough area on a part time basis.

Hours required would be before school (from 7am) to support the child in getting up, dressed and ready for school. Also required is support during the evening, at weekends and also during school holidays.

Additional hours are also available with other families requiring support.

The Person

– You must have some relevant experience providing personal care to vulnerable service users
– You will ideally have experience working with children or adults with disabilities
– You will be a patient, caring and compassionate individual who respects the dignity and diversity of our service users
– You will be willing to participate in further training in order to develop your skills as a support worker
– You will be a car driver and have access to your own vehicle

All applicants will be required to attend a registration interview, provide a minimum of two referees and also have a new Enhanced DBS check completed.

All successful applicants will undertake a 3 day induction training programme.
