Traffic Planner/Controller x 4 (2 x Days, 2 x Nights)
Location: Carlisle
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
Salary: £31,200
Reporting to: Regional Planning Manager
*Please note you will be on call throughout your shifts*
Role summary:
The successful candidate will be required to develop effective transport plans and control resource, ensuring customer and business requirements are achieved while complying with legal responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities and Objectives:
* To control an agreed amount of resource (vehicle, driver, trailer) ensuring all legal constraints are adhered to (working time directive and EU drivers’ hours regulations)
* Ensuring the daily plan is completed in real time, managing resource effectively; maximising utilisation while minimising cost
* Improve and maintain agreed customer and business KPI targets
* Communicate with other departments within the business to ensure a high level of customer service is achieved
* Adhere to vehicle service and defect processes
* Manage the resources for Emergency Response Drivers, ensuring that the required resources are available at all time
The successful applicant should have the ability to work on their own initiative and the willingness to resolve issues.
*They should be PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
*Previous logistics or planning experience is essential.
