Transport Planner – Chemicals

A Transport / Traffic Planner required for a leading chemical / pharmaceutical Logistics company based near Cambridge. As an experienced Transport / Traffic Planner you will have at least 2 years experience Planning Routes for UK Haulage.

Experience working with the Hazchem network is highly beneficial for this position.

The Transport Planner will have sound geographical knowledge and a Road Haulage or background.

THE ROLE:
In this role you will work in a team to cost effectively plan and dispatch routes to achieve contractual delivery times for the company fleet of vehicles.
The Transport Planner will support the management team in the development of other colleagues and identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
Demonstrating the Company Values in the undertaking of their role you will strive to always achieve the highest standards of customer service.
The Transport Planner will issue drivers with clear instruction and react to any changing situation that develops on a day to day basis.

REQUIREMENTS:
Sound Geographical knowledge
Experience working with the route planning of chemicals, hazardous goods or pharmaceuticals is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of Hazchem network is highly beneficial
Knowledge of Pallet way networks is preferable
Experience in Road Haulage is ESSENTIAL
CPC National desirable
Knowledge of Transport Management Systems (TMS) is desirable

PACKAGE:
Salary up to 23,000 dependant on salary
28 days holiday
