Transport Coordinator / Planner / Scheduler

Wisbech – Cambridgeshire

Salary Approx. £26,400 – £31,200per annum

40 Hours per week (Daytime). 1 in 4 Weekends (8 hours split over Saturday/Sunday)

On behalf of our client, a successful transport management company, Progress Recruitment Solutions (UK) Ltd are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Coordinator to work within their Wisbech-based operation.

As an experienced Scheduler you will be responsible for ensuring loads are planned, collected & delivered on time, in accordance with operational guidelines and that all regulations & standards are met. This role is highly customer service orientated, so I am looking to speak with people who have strengths in this area, along with excellent organisational skills.

Main Duties:-

Day to day supervision of drivers

*
Work within a dedicated team to maintain and control vehicles and drivers

*
Liaise with other offices/depots towards a seamless and effective service

*
Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are available for repair/service as required.

Cover the vehicle planning role and amend changes as required

*
Maintain and accurately update driver, vehicle and delivery details on company computer system.

Key Skill & Requirements:-

Knowledge and experience of transport planning and scheduling

Excellent IT, administration and organisational skills

Dealing with customers and resolving issues

Excellent customer service skills

Working under pressure

Ability to work as part of a team

Good geographical knowledge

This role would ideally suit a Haulage/Logistics Scheduler/Planner with several years of experience routing and dealing with drivers looking for a new opportunity to work with an established, successful and growing company.
