Job Description:

• Transport – Operation of the transport function & resources including driver liaison for all instructions
• Driver Engagement – Controlling and ensuring that driver start of shift brief & end of shift de-briefs are completed, issues are addressed, and corrective actions taken with appropriate escalation to shift managers where necessary.
• Driver Admin – Checking for and ensuring the return of all Pod’s for all deliveries, and the completion of the administration tasks associated with the delivery paperwork, including answering POD queries from the accounts department and from customer request.
• Daily Vehicle Checks – ensuring that all DVIR checks are completed daily and that defects are raised and actioned, and issues escalated where necessary.
• Vehicle Availability – Contact for the Compliance team, assisting in the co-ordination of assets being available to fulfil the transport plan.
• Maintenance Schedules – Transport contact for the Compliance & Planning function, ensuring that assets are released in line with the schedules and escalating issues where necessary.
• GTS / ESP Admin -Ensure all jobs in GTS / ESP are closed and completed daily, All trailer movements are updated daily.
• Planning -Ensure that all changes & issues with the execution of the plan are communicated to the central Planning team and transport shift manager.
• Collections & Deliveries – To monitor and track collections and deliveries. Customer, Driver & other depot communications.
• Driver Compliance Reports – Follow de-brief process ensuring that all drivers are debriefed daily, corrective actions are agreed and documented
• Drivers -Control & manage the driving resource, monitoring driver behaviour and performance, dealing with or escalating any issues that arise.
• Financial Management – Ensure that driver adherence to planned start times is monitored
• Resource Management -Communicate any resource sickness & absence to shift manager, help co-ordinate return to work interviews and policy adherence.
• H&S – Transport Responsibility for ensuring all health and safety obligations are met providing a legal and safe working environment and escalating where necessary.
• Equipment – Issue and collection of all DSC’s and equipment to new and temp drivers including giving instruction.
• Training – Support Shift manager in the systematic set up of new and agency drivers in Both the planning system and the, my vehicle app.
• Yard control – Support shift manager in the control of yard through on-site yard controller/Shunter and the co-ordination of the trailers going on and off bays for each DC to accommodate transport loading times to achieve delivery.
• Site access control – Recording accurate log of entry and exit of the site including visitors and third-party contractors.
