Trainee Lab Technician – Scientific Group

Location: Swaffham, Norfolk

Salary: £26,000per year+ great benefits

Our Client is the UK’s leading independent scientific group, recognised for its technical capability and value-added service to customers, providing laboratory analysis to the agriculture, food and environmental sectors, as well as contract research to GLP standards to support the development of agrochemicals, biocides and other chemicals.

Due to the expansion of the Swaffham site, we are now seeking special individuals to join their team as Trainee Laboratory Technician on a permanent basis.

Full Training will be provided, as no experience is necessary.

The role:

• To prepare and analyse samples within agree timeframes which ensure they are reported on time to our customers, while ensuring all HSE, quality and turnaround time requirements are meet.
• To communicate any discrepancies/queries in a professional manner.
• Sorting of samples and ensuring they correspond with the relevant paperwork
• Correctly reporting of all samples into the relevant system.
• Preparing chemical standards and reagents in line with our Standard Operating Procedures.
• Working as a team and maintaining morale and actively offering help and assistance wherever possible.
• Use of a wide range of instrumentation, after a successful training period

The person:

• Have enthusiasm, energy and be team focused.
• Be able to work effectively and collaboratively within own team and other sections.
• Take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.
• Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
• Highly organised and excellent time management skills.
• Desired but by no means essential, previous laboratory experience or a science background.
