Trainee Estimator Civil Engineering

Trainee Estimator – Civil Engineering and Rail – Wigan, Lancashire

Due to this clients continued growth and expansion within the civil engineering and rail sectors. My client are looking to recruit a Trainee Estimator to learn, develop and progress into being an integral member of the estimating team.

This client is based in the Lancashire area.

This candidate will be a self-motivated university graduate or someone currently working but on a day release completing a relevant degree in either Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying. All projects will be civil engineering projects although this contractor do work on Rail projects too.

All applicants must be willing to learn, able to work to tight deadlines and be an effective communicator at all levels. Whilst progressing in the role, the candidate will gain the knowledge and training required to work independently.

The ideal candidate will have some experience working as an estimator.

The Role

Work as part of a team to prepare detailed estimates from customer enquiries.
Taking quantities from architectural/engineer’s drawings, specifications and bills of materials in order to provide quotations.
Pricing civil engineering and rail projects using excel spreadsheets.
Pro-actively assisting members of the sales team in developing customer relationships and building our client base.
Responding to and resolving customer tender and product queries.Profile

Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/experience:-

Diploma or Certificate in Construction related course
Good computer literacy (word/excel/email)
