Trainee Cyber Forensic Analyst

A leading organisation in law enforcement has an immediate requirement for a Trainee Cyber Forensic Analyst within the Digital Evidence Unit to undertake a wide range of evidence/data processing tasks. That includes:

•provision of services to support the Division including exhibit management, digital forensics and eDiscovery evidence review services;
•developing policy and expertise in Digital Forensics and eDiscovery;

This is an operational role and you will need to organise and plan your own work accordingly and deal with unexpected urgent requests in a professional and timely manner.

Main Tasks
•Technical management of the eDiscovery Case Management System processing and administration workflow
•Input into the development and refinement of eDiscovery procedures
•Liaison with case teams regarding eDiscovery processing and review
•Autonomy Introspect eDiscovery system processing, troubleshooting administration, monitoring and reporting
•Operation of property store

Essential Skills
•Technical expertise in eDiscovery
•Good working knowledge of SQL
•Strong working knowledge and experience in scripting in PERL or JavaScript, particularly in relation to file handling and manipulation of data
•Good working knowledge of JBOSS, OCR, and TIFF servers
•Good working knowledge of processing and ingesting material into an eDiscovery system including generation of hash values, structured loading, content engine management, reporting and exception handling/resolution
•Understanding of ACPO Digital Forensic Guidelines
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to prioritise work
•Troubleshooting technical issues
•Working under pressure
•Experience of archiving duties and off-site storage
•Detailed knowledge of exhibit handling and evidence continuity
