AJ Bell may not be a household name yet, but don`t let the relative lack of fame mislead you. As one of the UK`s most innovative financial services companies, our reputation – fuelled by a habit of winning multiple industry awards each year – is growing all the time.
In the space of just 20 years we have gone from a small start-up company to a leading financial services provider, with over 111,503 clients and assets under administration exceeding £26.1 billion. There are many reasons for this success, but chief among them are a commitment to nurturing new talent, and a belief in carefully planning for the future. With our Trainee Accountant roles, we aim to continue both of those traditions.
Join our Finance Department and you will rotate through all of the major roles within their management accounts team, gaining a thorough grounding in each and seeing first-hand how they feed into the management accounts month-end process. After two and a half years you will be able to prepare a full set of management accounts, and will have had their full support to gain the ACCA / CIMA qualification up to the final level.
If you really impress during the period there will be the potential for a contract extension or a full time job within the Department, and along with it, the opportunity to complete your professional studies. With all of the statutory reporting, tax compliance, company secretarial, budgeting and forecasting work largely completed in-house, there will be potential opportunities across the accountancy spectrum.
To make the cut, you will need a 2:1 or first class honours degree, ideally in finance, accountancy or a business-related subject. Hard-working and enthusiastic, you should also be able to demonstrate a real commitment to building your future career in accountancy. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.
In return for your hard work, you can expect a competitive salary, a great benefits package and paid time to study for those recognised qualifications. Perhaps most importantly of all, you will also gain invaluable work experience at one of the UK`s most respected financial services companies.
You may have experience of the following: Trainee Accountant, Finance, CIMA, Accountancy Graduate, ACCA, Graduate Trainee, Management Accountant, Graduate Scheme, AAT etc.
