Traffic Dispatcher – Peterborough

We are currently looking for a Traffic Dispatcher with problem solving abilities and transport experience to join our busy Depot in Peterborough.

The main purpose of the Traffic Dispatcher is to ensure that we are providing a safe and cost effective day to day operation which meets our customers’ service requirements.

A key part of this will be first line supervision of drivers including briefing/debriefing and monitoring their performance in conjunction with the Depot Manager. You will also liaise closely with fleet colleagues to minimise vehicle down time and to ensure safe vehicle operations including compliance with company wheel security and vehicle defecting procedures.

We expect you to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all internal and external customers and the Regional Planning office.

Administrative tasks will include Accident and Near Miss reporting, tachograph records, payroll and holiday rotas.

A good standard of Maths and English is required along with a full driving license. In addition you will have excellent organisational, Administration and IT skills. Full training will be given to the successful candidate however knowledge of the transport industry and experience in a similar role would be desirable.
