Tig Welder / Fabricator

We are currently looking for a Skilled Welder / Fabricator who is competent in TIG Welding for a company which specialises in the manufacture of Special Purpose Machinery. Ideally the selected candidate will be experienced with welding Aluminium, and also have the ability to setup the plant to weld. The role will primarily be TIG Welding although on occasions you maybe required to do MIG Welding of Mild Steel.

Job related experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience fabricating welding of small batch components and bespoke machinery in a production environment. Working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium up to 30mm thick.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience TIG welding aluminium up to 300 amp.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience TIG & MIG welding of mild and stainless steel.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to read 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to jig and set up own work and ensure work finishes square and straight as drawing specifies.
• Able to perform engineering tasks including drilling, tapping and fly press forming.
• Must be familiar with setting up a 300 Amp TIG plant.

This position is a temporary contract although for the right person they may well be interested in making the position permanent.
