Tester, Software, Medical Device

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tester to take the lead on all software and system testing for an incredible Oxford-based MedTech company developing a medical device that will genuinely save lives!

The Role

Anticipating highly successful clinical trials, the Software Tester will be joining at a very exciting time! With testing to-date being carried out by the development team, this Tester position is newly-created, to lead all aspects of safety critical software and system verification in accordance with internationally recognised standards, such as IEC 62304. Whilst the successful Tester will apply automation where possible (the dev team have already created a number of automated unit tests), manual testing will still be required, as whilst the software can be run and tested on a PC, there will be a need to carry out some testing in the lab, with the medical device hardware itself.

The Software Tester will create and update requirements driven test sets, test cases and test environments (hardware and software), as well as the required documentation, regularly executing tests, and ensuring that all test outcomes are fully documented.

The Company

Founded in 2013 and growing ever since, the Software Tester will be joining a MedTech company with huge financial funding and at a crucial stage in their development. With the prototype established and running, the challenge now revolves around creating and improving upon a commercially viable finished product that will be used in hospitals.

What’s Required?

  • Solid commercial software/system testing experience, with the ability and confidence to operate in a standalone capacity
  • Experience gained from within a regulated environment. A medical device would of course be ideal, though other comparable environments will be considered: rail, automotive and aerospace for example,
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Experience of testing software that runs on some form of hardware/a device would be advantageous, as would basic electronics knowledge
  • Any experience of C++ and/or Python would also be advantageous

What Next?

If you’re a Software Tester looking to work on a meaningful product that will make a huge impact on the medical field, then please apply today to learn more!
