Embedded Software Engineer

A company based in Newcastle are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop software applications to control biometric identification products. The candidate will ideally be skilled with development of firmware software on various embedded ARM platforms the role is going to be commutable from analogue, digital, embedded systems and PCB design within the Electrical Testing Industry. The role is commutable from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.

In this role you will work within a team of multi-disciplined design engineers with varying levels of experience. The company are looking to expand their design team so having a few years industry experience is key for this role to be able to work with their demanding design team and contribute effectively.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining firmware, design and implement new product features, embedded software testing, create prototypes and proof of concepts as well as working with product management to meet customer requirements for performance and reliability.

Key skills for Embedded Software Engineer, Newcastle:

* Proficient with designing and developing complex real time embedded software systems
* Expert knowledge of C/C++ embedded software/firmware development is required
* Extensive experienced with embedded ARM platforms.
* Must have experience with various embedded IDE’s, compilers etc.

Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in a related discipline and be possessing 3+ years professional experience within relevant design disciplines.
