Test Engineer / Technician

We have an opportunity for a Contract Test Engineer / Technician based in Hemel Hempstead for a multi-national aerospace company for an initial 6 month period.

The successful candidate will work as part of the team developing qualification standard electronic hardware for the aerospace industry.

Duties will include:
– Carrying out manual testing of PCBs, including the set-up of the electronic test instrumentation and the reporting of results.
– Fault finding and diagnosing problems on PCBs, down to component level.
– Assisting hardware development engineers with the integration of PCBs 

Essential Characteristics
1. Practical experience of working in an electronic test environment.
2. Experience of setting up, programming and testing electronic assemblies, including PCBs, in accordance with technical procedures.

3 Have the ability/experience to set up electronic test equipment – low voltage/low power
4. Be effective in using laboratory electronic bench top equipment, in conjunction with circuit diagrams, for PCB fault diagnosis down to component level.

5 Have a flexible approach to the role

Ideal Characteristics:
1. Experience of working with avionic equipment in a development environment
2. Some knowledge of electronic circuit design.

Although based at the Hemel Hempstead facility, the job holder will also be expected to carry out some work at one of their facilities’ in Birmingham.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 4.45pm, Friday 8.00am – 12pm
You will initially be working standard hours as above however please be advised that due to workload you may be required to work shifts i.e. nights, days and late shift.

Rate of pay will be £24 – £30an hour limited dependent upon experience.
