- Basic Salary: £30,000 to £35,000

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a niche scientific business that can offer you long-term stability even in the current market? The role will be extremely varied, with the opportunity to do some international travel to places like Japan and Germany, as well as becoming trained to perform equipment installations and customer training in University Labs.
You will also be doing the following:
- Initially you’d be involved in product building to get to grips with how it goes together.
- Moving on to testing of systems and sub-assemblies.
- Organising test procedures along with the relevant data.
- Providing customers with support over the phone and via email.
- Using your problem solving ability to generate ideas for equipment issues.
- Conducting video calls for remote installations to guide customers through the process.
- Travel nationally and internationally to conduct installations.
The Candidate: Test and Installation Engineer
The successful candidate will be positive and confident in their ability, a self-motivated decision maker, and will have most of the following skills and experience:
- PhD or Masters in physical sciences – Physics, Chemistry, Material Science etc.
- Experience using vacuum/UHV technology, either academically or in industry.
- You may have work experience in one of the above and a qualification in the other – if that’s you then do apply!
- Willing to travel throughout the UK and occasionally internationally for customer visits and occasional scientific conferences.
