SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* You will be educated to ONC/HNC level, in an engineering, science or technically related discipline and be able to demonstrate sound relevant technical skills.
* You will have a successful track record of delivering projects alongside working within a large organisation communicating at all levels using your business and commercial skills.
* You will also have significant experience of control and automation systems, particularly in relation to the field based instrumentation and telemetry data capture methods is required. This is combined with a strong appreciation of the value of data, excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of site safety procedures.
THE ROLE
As a Telemetry Engineering Analyst you will be responsible for developing and delivering scalable, robust, secure and resilient Telemetry Automation and Instrumentation (TAI) infrastructure services, to support the business needs for Kelda Group. This includes leading the development, design, and implementation of TAI related services and projects to meet business requirements and agreed service levels. Your responsibilities will include:
* You will lead expert technical input to the specification of telemetry, automation and instrumentation standards.
* You will be required to develop the telemetry technical content for YW’s engineering specification & support asset standards.
* You will technically build & lead telemetry projects incorporating control, instrumentation, telemetry monitoring and communications systems. The solution designs will integrate with strategic IT asset monitoring and control systems delivered to time, cost and quality criteria.
* You will be required to work with our wider business engineering and capital teams ensuring the technical standards and specifications are appropriate and followed, supporting where necessary any deviations and compliance support requests.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The role will be based at Midway complex, Bradford and your role will involve infrequent travel across the Yorkshire Water region – it is therefore essential that you hold a full valid EU driving licence.

Yorkshire Water manages the collection, treatment and distribution of water around the Yorkshire region, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. At the same time we also collect, treat and dispose of approximately one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment.

To help us achieve our vision of “taking responsibility for the water environment for good” we currently have a vacancy for a Telemetry Engineer to join the Telemetry Team. The Telemetry Team is part of the Business Support Group (BSG). The purpose of BSG is to service & support the information needs of the business to enable efficient & effective decisions to deliver excellent service, outperform business plan targets and deliver stable or improving serviceability.
The Telemetry Team supports a wide range of business critical infrastructure, services and standards covering; Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA), Analytical Instrumentation, Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs) and wider Information Services infrastructure.
