Technical Services Supervisor
Job Description:
Job purpose: The supervision of the technical Support team providing pre-and post sales technical support
Key responsibilities:
Pre-sales support and advice including liaison with marketing and product manager to raise product awareness
Formulation of sales tools using Proposal works (configuration sheets, presentation material etc)
Introduction of new products in liaison with Marketing, Product Manager, Purchasing and Sales
Manage obsolete products within the business
Input into company publications and website by liaising with Ecommerce Executive
Produce editorials for trade journals on request from Product Manager
Participation in seminars and supplier / customer events
Co-ordination, and mentoring for Tech Services Apprenticeship Program
Co-ordination of product literature and information for Technical Services Team
Liaison with company field based Sales Team, Product Sales Specialists (PSS) & Automation Engineers (AE)
Manage, and develop program of Training Videos for Internal, and External customers.
Competitive analysis of potential new franchises
Customer account management including visits and product demonstrations
Quotations, configurations and proposals
Telephone support and sales, post sales support and sales
Back up support for company helpdesk
Product updates and training, co-ordinating around apprenticeship program
Logging and reposting calls
Sales lead management
Increase profile of Helpdesk
Promote added value services such as software installs and OS upgrades
Promote Web Based Support
Portray a professional image at all times.
Operate in accordance with Quality Assured and Health & Safety directives.
N.B. In addition to those listed above, employees are requested to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required
Helpdesk
Plan for increased call rate
Formulation of configuration tools
Share call log information with the sales team and training manager
Develop hire services, manage and maintain loan equipment
Oversee quotations, configurations and proposals
Manage Helpdesk, manage support capability of new products
Customer feedback (success stories)
Working with the product manager to provide training administration on the tech desk
Provide back up support for manufacturing cell
Sales growth on software support contacts
Month end reports, annual business strategy plan, and Software Contract Sales Report.
Skills and experience needed:
Broad knowledge of wiring and fitting best practice
Understanding of electrical wiring regulations
PC literate MSOffice products
Qualifications / education / specialist training required:
HNC / D Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Electrical technical apprenticeship
Educated to A level standard, particularly Maths and English
