Salary: £48,000 – £66,000 per year

Technical Manager

We are looking for a leader to manage the 3rd line engineers and the Technical Architects for a great and growing company.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for maximizing team productivity through monitoring, coaching, and ensuring process adherence. The Technical Manager will work closely with the DevSecOps and Pre-Sales teams, ensuring that the Managed Services team remains aligned with the company technical development strategy. The Technical Manager will act as an ambassador the 3rd line, Technical Architect and Device management services, and will identify and nurture key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key duties and responsibilities:

* Effectively lead a team of engineers, conducting regular meetings and one to one session for the management of performance levels, morale, and individual career development

* Ensure that the 3rd line backlog is managed within SLA, identifying blocker to service, and working with the Managed Services Management Team and Service Management team to resolve.

* Own the delivery and evolution of Technical Architect contractual obligations, highlighting any potential sales opportunity to the appropriate Account Manager.

* Guide and mentor, the team to innovate in the field of Device Management across a range of solutions but personally staying abreast of developments in Jamf, Intune and other MDM provision and management.

* Drive team performance using both qualitative and quantitative measures

* Ensure adherence to quality/security and ISO standards

* Maintain an accurate training log and work with the Head of Managed Service to ensure adequate training budgets are agreed in advance and in line with the technical pipeline

* Create and maintain a development roadmap for the 3rd line Engineering Team, Technical Architects and Device Management Team

Skills and qualities:

* Ability to communicate effectively

* Build and maintain positive, productive relationships whilst providing support and guidance

* Use of customer soft skills; Empathise with users, display active listening skills, polite and friendly telephone manner

* Proactive with the ability to take on constructive feedback, both internally and from customers, and ensure positive change

* Articulate, methodical, numerate, and literate

* Able to capture and analyse data and produce meaningful reports

* ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation or a clear commitment to complete within 6 months of confirmation

* Be punctual and tenacious; demonstrate perseverance and use of initiative

* Take ownership for personal development and work to improve on existing skills Be extremely customer-focused
