As part of our continued growth strategy, Expleo are looking for a Technical Authority GT Design Engineer to join our aerospace group, the role could be based at either our Bristol or Derby offices. This is a permanent role with a salary/package negotiable based on experience and skill levels.
Ideally candidates will have extensive experience in the management of gas turbine propulsion engineering projects, but we will consider suitably experienced candidates from the wider aerospace industry.
Candidates should be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
The Role:
The Technical Authority primarily provides technical leadership and governance to project teams delivering gas turbine focused engineering programmes, ensuring adherence to internal and client procedures, and guaranteeing quality, time and commercial performance targets are achieved. Additionally, using their technical knowledge, generate competitive proposals that meet clients programme needs.
The Technical Authority, working with the Chief Engineer and Capability Managers, supports business growth through the development of client opportunities, expansion of capability into emerging technologies, and efficiency improvements of internal processes.
Responsibilities:
They will be expected to understand classic design & manufacturing processes, utilising predominantly high temperature metallic materials, and be capable of guiding engineers through the fundamentals in the following key domains:
Aero or Industrial Gas Turbine system design and verification
High speed rotating machinery
High temperature and pressure machinery design and verification
Mechanics & selection of materials
Manufacturing processes and application
Component mechanical integrity requirements and analytical processes
Qualifications/Experience:
Qualified to Degree level, with significant experience in a technical role leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams that develop concepts through to manufacturing definition.
Suited to Mechanical / Aerospace Engineers who have experience of working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment on a diverse range of engineering programmes.
Chartered Engineer.
Appreciation of gas turbine fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and performance, and their interactions across the whole engine architecture.
CAD modelling experience, in particular, Siemens NX.
