Technical Author

We are urgently seeking a Technical Author for an initial 6 month contract to start ASAP paying £30 – £33.6 per hour, for a leading manufacturing company based in Newport, South Wales.

The role of the Technical Author will involve making amendments / additions to existing manuals and re-configuring them. You will be required to liaise with Design Engineers, Technicians and Service Engineers to gain knowledge of the equipment. You will have experience working in a hi-tech environment such as Semi-Conductor, Aerospace or Military organisations. Knowledge of writing to SEMI or CE standards would be preferred, however this is not essential.

The successful Technical Author will have experience of working with Adobe Framemaker – knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Oracle – Agile would also be ideal. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with colleagues and engineers in order to extract the relevant information.

Similarly our client will consider candidates from an Engineering background within the Semi-Conductor industry, who would be interested in taking up a writing / author role.
