The school caters for primary and secondary pupils with complex social communication needs. You need to have great communication skills as well as a confident and outgoing nature. You must be good at thinking on your feet and able to multitask.

This can be a challenging role, but is extremely rewarding. You will be helping vulnerable young people to reach their goals as well as providing emotional support and a helping hand during the school day.

Teaching Assistant (Unqualified) Responsibilities: 

• Support learners with special educational needs both academically and emotionally.
• Be open to learning new skills everyday. 
• Establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
• Encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
• Contribute to providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
• To promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

Teaching Assistant (Unqualified) Requirements:

• Must be enthusiastic to learn and develop your skills 
• Be commutable to Leatherhead, Surrey. 
• Someone with a bubbly and happy personality.
• Able to engage with others well using fantastic communication skills.
• Be dedicated to supporting pupils within special education.
