Primary School Reception Teaching Assistant, Oxted, Surrey

Are you passionate about supporting children at the early stages of their schooling, in their very first year of Primary Education?

This truly wonderful school in Surrey is seeking a confident and energetic Teaching Assistant to support, guide and nurture their Reception children.

The school are offering a fully paid trial day and looking for someone to start ASAP. THe positon will be on an initial short term contract but has a strong posibility to move into a full time, permanent contract with the school.

This Reception Teaching Assistant role will give you the opportunity to gain more classroom experience whilst being a confident, dedicated and hard-working role model. Alongside the teaching staff, you will help children with their learning and ensure the highest standards of care, support and welfare for all pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.

To thrive in this teaching assistant role you must have:

* A positive, caring, energetic, can-do attitude

* The ability to monitor and record a child’s progress

* An understanding of safeguarding children

* A genuine interest in aiding children’s development

Teaching Assistant duties include:

* Assisting the class teacher

* Communicating with parents

* Caring and looking after children during break times and lunch times

* Supervising children during activities

* Motivating children and being an excellent role model

The school is based in a lovely town in Surrey, easily accessible from London and surrounding towns such as Croydon, East Grinstead and Sevenoaks.

The teaching staff at this school are incredibly friendly and supportive and will always be on hand for advice and guidance.

Graduates or applicants holding an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare or an Early Years Degree are welcome, as are experienced TAs.

The successful teaching assistant will ideally have past experience of Early Years or KS1 but personality and energy and a can-do attitude will be favoured regardless of academic background or past experience for this role.
