Systems Engineer

Our client is a specialist systems and software development company operating in defence and other critical systems sectors.

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join a team developing advanced military communications systems. Candidates will possess, or be looking to further develop, skills and experience in the following areas:

• Experience of the full project lifecycle (requirements, design, develop, test, deliver).
• Architecture modelling and requirements analysis.
• Experience of working in a strict configuration controlled environment.
• Experience of working with System engineering and configuration tools such as SharePoint and DOORs would be advantageous.
• Experience of working to ISO 9001:2000 standards.
• Experience of liaising with customer and subcontractors on technical issues.
• Capable of managing resources to meet agreed milestones and deliverables.
• Ability to communicate with internal staff, subcontractors and customers.
• Capable of managing systems engineering activities.
• Capable of demonstrating understanding of design issues relating to Complex Systems, or System of Systems.

Background in Maritime/Naval/Communications/Defence/Military sectors would be beneficial

Ideal candidates will be degree qualified in an engineering or science based subject with several years’ experience. Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) or working towards C.Eng status would be beneficial.
