An opportunity to join the ever expanding electrical engineering team as an electrical controls design engineer has just come to light with my client looking for qualified engineers with a strong background in designing, programming and final commissioning of complex control systems for the special purpose machinery industry.

The Company
An international, market leader in the design and manufacturer of advanced special purpose production machinery.
My client currently dominates the medical, pharmaceutical, food and chemical processing industries and is currently looking to expand their electrical control systems department. They have next generation technology with advanced control systems design capabilities which are required to be integrated into their bespoke one off machinery designed and manufactured on site.

The Role
As an electrical controls design engineer you will be responsible for designing complex electrical control systems – Electrical schematics, complex wiring diagrams, motor control systems, safety relays, electrical circuits, hardwire systems and associated design documentation.
Writing/Programming programmable logic controllers (PLC’ s) into these designs such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi using software programs such as ladder logic, rslogix or similar.
You will also be tasked with smart relay programming and HMI programming.
Occasional visits are required for commissioning purposes but this is predominately an office design based position.

The Candidate
Successful candidates must have a skilled ability designing electrical control systems & associated equipment – electrical wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, motor control systems (MCC’ s), smart relays, complex circuitry, hardwire control systems, parts lists, control panels (external/internal), programmable logic controllers (PLC’ s) such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi etc…
Ability or knowledge of programming/writing PLC’ s using the latest associated software such as ladder logic or rslogix
You must possess strong communication skills as you will be required to liaise with technical managers and clients on a daily basis.

Advantageous attributes include:
Working knowledge of mechanical systems e.g. hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems etc…

The Package
£42,000 – £48,000per annum + a competitive benefits package
