Systems Analyst Programmer – Hybrid (2 days) – Hertfordshire – FTC

Are you passionate about shaping the technological landscape and contributing to developing cutting-edge systems? Join our client’s dynamic team as a Systems Analyst Programmer responsible for the growth and maintenance of their internally developed Policy Management Systems.

This role is an FTC, 2 days a week onsite in Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

System Development and Maintenance: Lead the development and maintenance of internally developed Policy Management Systems, specifically utilizing OpenEdge – Progress Systems. Oversee all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for internally developed systems

Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to users and business analysts in crafting business and functional specifications. Deliver accurate estimations on the effort required for fully functional solutions, considering the entire SDLC.

Documentation and Design: Create comprehensive System Design Documents, including System Diagrams and Technical Specifications aligned with business requirements.

Software Development: Develop and maintain applications and databases by evaluating business needs and analyzing requirements. Ensure coding meets company standards regarding accuracy, efficiency, and code robustness.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Produce System Test Plans for all System Changes and collaborate with the test team on user test plans. Confirm program operation through system tests and modify code if required.

Support and Compliance: Provide support reference material by writing and maintaining wiki and user documentation. Ensure compliance with group and industry audit requirements and security.

Reporting and Risk Mitigation: Report on performance against agreed objectives, timescales, and standards. Highlight and identify key risks in all changes made to systems and proactively work to mitigate them.

Continuous Learning: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in relevant professional societies.

Customer Focus: Act to deliver positive customer outcomes, ensuring a higher standard of customer care and enabling effective decision-making in their interests.

Adaptability: Undertake any other tasks associated with the role as reasonably requested, showcasing adaptability and commitment.
